Innovation Norway is organising a conference and matchmaking event in Norway, in the frame of Oslo Innovation Week, September, 24th and 25th.

The event will bear the title “Breaking the barriers in a Circular Economy” and it aims at providing a platform for discussing on-going trends and challenges, inform about specific opportunities under the upcoming calls linked to the EEA and Norway Grants and most importantly, provide an organised matchmaking for potential project partners across Europe.

The tentative agenda of the event is available at: https://breaking-barriers.b2match.io/agenda

Participation and target group: potential applicants of EEA/Norway Grants Programmes, i.e. private companies from Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Poland, Romania.

Only participants that would be eligible applicants for joint projects under the EEA and Norway Grants will be considered for the event. This does exclude consultancy companies from participating.
Merely selling services/products does not qualify as relevant reason for participation. The event is about finding partners for joint projects. This means, Romanian SMEs need to offer a partnership or look for collaboration with a Norwegian partner to carry out a project. If a clear need for partnership/collaboration cannot be found in the profile, then the participant should not be admitted to the event.

Target group – Topics

These should be planning projects towards development, innovation, research within:

  • Reducing material and resource inputs
  • Maintaining the value of products, materials and resources for as long as possible
  • Minimising the generation of waste
  • Replacing non-renewable resources with biomass
  • Protecting oceans and land from waste and litter by remediating existing concentrates, mitigating new pollution and developing biodegradable bio plastics.

Since there are limited number of available seats per country (max. 8) and in case you are interested to attend the event, please apply for participation not later than Tuesday, 3 September 2019 on: https://breaking-barriers.b2match.io/. Companies will be selected by an established committee, based on the above mentioned criteria and the financial standing of the company. Those ones approved for participation will be validated by Innovation Norway and could start booking B2B-speed meetings.

The participants in the event may receive a travel grant of EUR 1,200 from Innovation Norway for covering their travel and accommodation costs. This will be awarded as de minimis aid, based on reimbursement principle. Each participant will be responsible for booking the airplane ticket and hotel. Practical information section could be also useful when taking care of administrative aspects of the travel https://breaking-barriers.b2match.io/page-231.
