As of 1 December 2016, the EU-funded business accelerator KATANA is calling for ambitious entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs with a great vision for the future of agribusiness.
Addressing agrifood, ICT and emerging industries, KATANA provides the best 100 applicants with 2,000 euros funding while the best 10 teams in terms of market attractiveness and performance will be granted 100,000 euros each. In addition to that, participants receive business services worth 20,000 euros including 14 pan-European matchmaking events, a three days onsite Bootcamp and an international Investment Forum where participants get the chance to pitch their ideas in front of market players and investors.
What? Financial support up to 100k, business services and coaching worth 20k.
Who? Single entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs from agribusiness, ICT and specific emerging industries (eco-industries, mobile services and personalized health).
When? 1 December 2016 to 28 February 2017

By bringing together farmers, technologists, venture capitalists and governmental representatives, KATANA drives forth the emergence of innovative business models and boosts the development of ICT-related products and services in the field.
Based on the vision of employing biotech, robotics, soft- and hardware technology to all aspects of agriculture, KATANA addresses the traditional agrifood value chain in order to establish a sustainable, collaboration based ecosystem that supports SMEs and start-ups in accessing knowledge, technology, capital and markets.
